DESCRIPTION:Reception\, Year 1\, Year 2\, Year 3\, Year 4\, Year 5\, Year 6 \n\n\nNational Census Day for all primary schools\, where (amongst other key figures) the number of Key Stage 1 children staying for school dinners that day is recorded.  This figure (along with the same figure recorded on the January 2026 Census Day) then determines how much Universal Infant Free School Meal (UIFSM) grant the School receives.  This UIFSM grant is paid to the School to cover the cost of the provision of free school meals for our children in Reception\, Year 1 and Year 2 and is paid at the rate of £2.61 per day\, throughout the school year\, for every child that stays for a meal on those October and January census days (a total of £495.90 per eligible child). \n\n\nSo with this in mind\, we are tweaking the menu next week to encourage as many children as possible to stay for a hot school meal on Thursday.  Please see the menu for the day (click here) – Hot Dog (Quorn Sausage for vegetarians)\, Wedges\, Sweetcorn\, Garden Peas\, and Pancake with Chocolate Sauce for dessert! \n\n\nMay we please ask you to encourage your EYFS/KS1 child to stay for a hot meal that day or to try a hot school meal for the first time\, if they have not already done so!  Any additional income is very important for the School\, so we do hope you can help.  Thank you.

DESCRIPTION:Reception\, Year 1\, Year 2\, Year 3\, Year 4\, Year 5\, Year 6 \n\n\nWe are pleased to offer families the opportunity to access support\, advice and guidance through our Family Support Sessions with our School and Community Practitioner\, Gary Kirkwood.\nThese relaxed and informal sessions provide a first point of contact for families who may need additional support with home life\, wellbeing or other concerns. Gary can help signpost families to appropriate services and support networks and where necessary\, discuss options such as Early Help. Attending one of these sessions is the recommended first step before an Early Help referral is considered.\nFamily Support session dates (September to December):\nThursday 1st October – 9.00 am to 11.00 am\nWednesday 21st October – 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm\nTuesday 24th November – 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm\nMonday 14th December – 9.00 am to 11.00 am\nIf you would like to book an individual appointment with Gary\, please contact the school office at office@swanlandschool.co.uk.\nWe encourage any family who may benefit from support to take advantage of this valuable service.
