SUMMARY:Autumn Census Day
DESCRIPTION:Reception\, Year 1\, Year 2\, Year 3\, Year 4\, Year 5\, Year 6 \n\n\nNational Census Day for all primary schools\, where (amongst other key figures) the number of Key Stage 1 children staying for school dinners that day is recorded.  This figure (along with the same figure recorded on the January 2026 Census Day) then determines how much Universal Infant Free School Meal (UIFSM) grant the School receives.  This UIFSM grant is paid to the School to cover the cost of the provision of free school meals for our children in Reception\, Year 1 and Year 2 and is paid at the rate of £2.61 per day\, throughout the school year\, for every child that stays for a meal on those October and January census days (a total of £495.90 per eligible child). \n\n\nSo with this in mind\, we are tweaking the menu next week to encourage as many children as possible to stay for a hot school meal on Thursday.  Please see the menu for the day (click here) – Hot Dog (Quorn Sausage for vegetarians)\, Wedges\, Sweetcorn\, Garden Peas\, and Pancake with Chocolate Sauce for dessert! \n\n\nMay we please ask you to encourage your EYFS/KS1 child to stay for a hot meal that day or to try a hot school meal for the first time\, if they have not already done so!  Any additional income is very important for the School\, so we do hope you can help.  Thank you.

SUMMARY:Harvest Festival Celebration and Foodbank Collection
DESCRIPTION:Reception\, Year 1\, Year 2\, Year 3\, Year 4\, Year 5\, Year 6 \n\n\nOn Wednesday 7th October 2026\, the children will be visiting Christ Church\, Swanland\, to take part in a Harvest Festival celebration. \n\n\nThis year\, Christ Church will once again be collecting donations for Hull Foodbank (Trussell Trust). Hull Foodbank is only able to accept non-perishable food items\, such as tinned and dried goods\, rather than fresh produce. \n\n\nExamples of suitable donations include: \n\n\nTinned Fruit • Tinned Vegetables • Soup • Rice Pudding • Tinned Meat • Pasta • Beans \n\n\nThe following items would also be greatly appreciated: \n\n\nBreakfast Cereals • Rice • Tea/Coffee • Sugar • Biscuits • Snacks \n\n\nIf your child would like to make a donation\, please send it into school on the morning of Wednesday 7th October only. Donations will be kept in classrooms until the children carry them to church as part of the Harvest Festival celebration. \n\n\nPlease note that there is no obligation to donate. A contribution is not required for your child to attend the church visit. \n\n\nThank you for your support.
