We now have a dedicated Family Help School & Community Practitioner assigned to our school—Gary Kirkwood—who is available to offer support, advice, and guidance to families who may need additional help. These sessions act as the first point of contact for signposting families to appropriate services and should be used before initiating an Early Help referral, as Gary can direct families to a range of support options, including Early Help where necessary.
This process also enables Front Door Services to direct parents to our pre‑arranged drop‑in sessions when they enquire about support but do not require a full referral.
This drop‑in opportunity is the first step prior to making an Early Help referral.
We will be offering half‑termly drop‑in sessions, with the first session taking place on Tuesday 17th March between 9.00 am and 11.30 am. If you or a family require support with home life, wellbeing, or similar concerns, we can also arrange individual appointments with Gary as needed.
These are relaxed, informal drop‑in sessions designed to make accessing support as easy as possible.
In addition, Gary will be holding a Coffee and Chat session on Thursday 26th March, 9.10 am–10.15 am.
If you are interested in booking a meeting or attending the Coffee and Chat session, please email: office@swanlandschool.co.uk.
